Reviews and recommendations
This information was not provided on the original proposals, but was generated during the review process.
Comment:
The proposal is to install screens at the intake to the City of Yakima's Water Treatment Plant on the Naches River. There will likely be some fish benefits. The improved screens will eliminate or reduce mortality of juvenile salmonids, as some are entrained into the water treatment plant. However, there is inadequate specification of benefits to fish. This appears to be screening of the intake facilities. Would it be feasible to screen the canal where water is redirected from the river? This proposal may raise an in lieu issue, which is beyond the ISRP's purview.Comment:
This proposal has not been coordinated with the co-managers. This project raises in-lieu concerns as well as funding activities beyond the screening implementation.
